They were born on our back porch in May and we've had them every day since. They're three months old, neutered, vaccinated, and looking for a home. We'd love to place them together. We're also willing to consider the right separate homes.

Renoir and Stickers

Renoir

Renoir likes people. He'll wander into the room, meow at you, and then settle somewhere nearby — his chair, the other end of the couch, the floor. He just doesn't want to be picked up or put in your lap. If you try, he hops down. No hard feelings.

In the afternoons he will often curl up next to you and purr. He's not unfriendly. He's not a lap cat. He's a next-to-you cat, and once he's relaxed around you, he's genuinely sweet. He's a very handsome tabby, too, with a black nose.

Stickers

Stickers is the friendlier one. He's got that white-tipped tail and a cheerful disposition. He doesn't mind being picked up and held — for a bit, anyway — and he's more likely to come hang out on the couch just because you're there. He won't always sit in your lap, but he's more willing when he's tired.

He'll follow you from room to room to see what you're doing. He's still a cat with his own plans. He just doesn't mind the attention.

They have never spent a night apart.

Renoir and Stickers wear each other out. They wrestle and chase, then sleep in a heap. One kitten in a new house needs you as a playmate. Two occupy one another, and you still get the afternoon on the couch.

We'd love for them to go together for that reason. Two isn't twice the work in the way people expect.

Where they came from

Snookers had them on our back porch

Their mom, Snookers, was a skinny community cat who started coming around in January. She walked up to our son, crawled into his lap, and that was that. We moved her food to the back porch so the other neighborhood cats would leave it alone. In March we took her in to be spayed and found out she was already pregnant.

She had four kittens on that porch on May 7. The whole litter grew up in the middle of our house — four kids, a Labrador they get along with, and a lot of handling from day one. They're used to noise.

Two of the four have gone to homes we're happy about. Snookers is staying. She's an indoor cat now. Renoir and Stickers are our last two kittens, and we'd love for them to find a home together. If you only have room for one, we're willing to consider that too.

The practical part

Vet stuff, plainly

  • Both neutered on August 13 — everything below happened at that same visit. The clinic asks for 10 to 14 days to heal, so they can go home from August 27.
  • Rabies — one-year vaccine, good through August 13, 2027.
  • FVRCP — the standard distemper and respiratory combination.
  • Feline leukemia — first dose done. The booster is due the first week of September. We'll handle it if they're still here, and tell you what's due if they're not.
  • Tested negative for feline leukemia (FeLV) and FIV.
  • Flea and parasite treatment given at the same visit.
  • Both litter box trained. No accidents.
  • They weigh a bit over four pounds each.
  • No adoption fee. They come with the food they're eating now and a copy of their treatment sheets.
  • They need to be indoor cats.
